With the enactment of Legislative Decree No. 18/23, the role of the Internal Water Network Manager (GIDI) has been established. This individual is identified as the responsible party (with independent decision-making authority and budget delegation) for the internal potable water distribution system, which extends from the point of delivery to the point of use. The GIDI is assigned the responsibility of ensuring the quality of the distributed water, particularly in relation to Legionella contamination. This reinforces the necessity of implementing an appropriate Legionella risk prevention and control plan for these systems, a requirement already implicit in compliance with Legislative Decree 81/2008.
